The vexing thing is that
she shook out cores and changed us
And her passing was so soft

I thought I would feel her
Words wilt inside me
or sense the pressure drop

But I came irreverent, mongered
On my wall, buried beneath
The passing day. It wronged her.

Weep strongly for lost songs
Paper bodies folded into rest.
Cease, and her spirit ascends us

To laureate pillars well deserved
For humanity well served, go.
Us mortals will hold your place, yet.
