I woke up this morning with this heavy on my heart. What we lust after is a sin... the Gospel is not about greed, it is about what Christ did on the cross for each one of us.
We can go to the grocery store and crave things that are not good for us. We can fill our bodies with junk food knowing very well they have no nutritional value. We can also crave money, material things that do not put God first. Idols can keep us from the promised land. The comparison is that God knows all the desires of our heart and He knows what is healthy, what will prosper our souls.
It is time for each one of us to take a look at our lives and see if we are putting God first. So I took that famous line by John F. Kennedy and changed it up...Ask not what God can do for you but ask what you can do for Him. He loves you and knows exactly what each one of us needs!
