Rabbits running wild
along the edges
of the book,
a sinkhole of words
opens up, forcing
a closer look.

Rabbits with sharp swords.
Rabbits playing horns.
Some show signs of artistry;
some, a mind merely bored.

They skittle, and they skedaddle;
they run, and hop and hunt.
These rabbits in the margins
are the Monks' ideas of fun.

Rabbits running wild,
along the edges
of bent time,
a sinkhole of the clock
opens up, glimpsing
an artist's mind.
