Three Ways of Looking at a Young Writer

1.
The eraser's been bit and chewed,
the seat's been shifted,
words scribbled on and off
and on again as the start
is as elusive as the end,
and the middle remains
a complete mystery.

2.
They can't even catch
this deluge, this rain
of stories,
filling the bucket so fast
that their pen runs quicker
than the mind, whole novels
tumbling down the mountains
like an avalanche of possibilities.

3.
Sit there, in silence,
so that the world thinks
you are doing nothing,
but inside your mind,
whole landscapes are unfolding,
and you are deliberately
unfolding your map.
Sometimes, it takes time
to write.
