An apple per day: Day 18, 19, 20, 21 & 22: Ambrosia-licious
Unfortunately it has been difficult to keep up with the daily entries on my apple project with this sprained wrist but it hasn't stopped me from eating an apple per day.
The Ambrosia apple is a chance seedling that was discovered in the 1990's in an apple orchard in British Colombia. This "food of the gods" apple is sweet with a pinch of tart. Known to be great for kids and elderly due to its low acidity which makes it easy to digest.
If you like fruit in your salad, this apple is perfect for that as it takes longer to brown with its low oxidation.
Turns out there's more to the Ambrosia apple than the salad - but, despite the balance of flavors - I'd still prefer an ambrosia salad to this apple variety.
